I went out and got some more shells! Not enough to cover the while bottom but there are now around 4 shells per fish.

Hey, that looks pretty good. You definitely needed more shells and at 4 per you could still use even more. Whatever shells they don't use they will bury in the sand. Also, don't be suprised if one or more moves into the rockwork. I would actually move the lava rock to establish more of a territory and to limit line of sight between the Multis. Nice job. I also have a Multi/Calvus tank. It's in my sig if you want to check it out for any ideas or whatever.

Your Discus tank is very nice too.Last edited by jeffs99dime; 01-05-2013 at 04:13 PM.

So maybe put the rock work right in the center then shells all around ??

Yeah, not right in the center of the tank-as to avoid symetry, but just off-center so you create a sight barrier. How many Multis are in the tank presently? Wait until they really start digging, it's awesome! No matter how you arrange the tank, rock excluded, they will make it to their liking no matter what you do. It's really funny to watch. I like your sand choice btw.
