  1. Default Cardinal tetra parasite?

I just noticed that one of my Cardinals has a white dot that looks like a pimple at the middle of his tail before it becomes a fin. I can't get a clear picture but it looks just like a pimple.

Any idea of what is might be and what I should do?

I really don't know. It's not just a spot. It sticks out like the head of a pimple. I think it might be a parasite.

The tank is established and I haven't added anything. The water parameters are perfect.

Sorry tate I checked all my books and researched the web and could not find anything. It might just be a growth of some sort.

If it were anybody but you I would suggest a water change but you have allready stated what your parms are, so I don't think thats the problem.

    I wish you luck.

Other than the spot he seems to be fine.

You might want to QT him in case it's a parasite or a fungus so it doesn't spread to the other fish. Keep his water clean, see how he acts.

Melafix or Pimifix are both natural and mild medications. If he gets worse or the spot increases in size you might try that. I had some neons get spots that may or may not be similar to what your cardinal has. I used Melafix and 2 days later the spots were gone.
    good luck
