heater popping
So my aquaeon 50W for my 5.5 betta is popping when on. It works and heats up but it scares me to death. it is my gfs betta tank, so she called me yesterday, i told her to turn it off. I just got to her house, and well it pops. i moved it, made sure it was suctioned right etc.. it still pops. I am of course taking it back but what could the problem be.
yes it is submerged, and the it says on the packaged it can be

Some do pop a bit when heating up. No problem.

Check where your suction cup clips are situated. Make sure they're not around the heating coil. If they are, move them up and see if that addresses the issue.

Have you watched it to see what happens? My old Aqueon used to pop when it would heat up. Every time it would pop. there would be a bubble coming off of the heater. The same heater I had, ended up flooding and I replaced it with a jager.

Obviously that much popping is not normal. That's just a bit too weird. They're not supposed to sound like a popcorn machine. :)
