Thanks!!
Interesting development: new type of snail randomly appeared! I have had a bunch of snails with "round" shells that came with my java moss. They've been multiplying, but haven't gotten out of control so I am cool with them. You might be able to find some in my previous pics.
Recently I was watching the shrimp and noticed a few snails with clear "flat spiral" shells. I have no idea where they came from- I haven't added anything to this tank in forever, and haven't seen these snails until a few days ago. Interesting, and kind of cool!
Just thought I would share...
And sorry- my camera just won't focus on them... all you would see is an unrecognizeable little dot.

The problem with shrimp tanks with snails is that most solutions to take care of the snails will also wipe out the shrimp. Might want to nip that snail problem while you can, the numbers always seem to get out of control on me.

Personally I don't have a problem with the snails. Their population seems to be steady. It did seem to jump at first, but has leveled off. I do appreciate the warning though... thanks!
If they do get out of control I will use the zuchini trap method to knock their numbers down...

Or add in a few assassin snails. They will leave the shrimp alone, but man they will go after the pest snails with a vengeance.
