easy to keep but TALL freshwater plants

gota 45 gallon tank and all the plants i had in my previous 20 gallon are all short i want some tall plants to give hiding places up high and in the middle
any suggestions??

Cabomba Elodea and ludwigia are tall and pretty easy to grow.

vallisneria seem to be pretty undemanding and will grow as tall as you left them.

many aponogetons are large plants with long stalks and if you stick to the cheap common ones, also are easy to care for.

What kind of lighting do you have?

I find that cabomba yellows at the bottom in my 45 gallon, but vals do well. I've created a couple of different levels with the tank decor and have plants on each level to overcome the "empty middle" look. I also have a bit of salvinia floating on top.

I have had luck with aponogetons and water lillies.

+1 to Water lillies, they'll create a nice display near the substrate and then throw up some leaves that will reach for the water surface, creating some nice shade. They also look quite nice.

Onion plants are pretty hardy, as well, and get pretty tall.
