  1. Default WC vs Food Fish Growth Rate ?

I know a combination of both equals optimal growth but if you had to choose one what would you choose ? And which one is likely to favor growth spurts for lagging fish ?

if you had to choose one what would you choose ?
I don't & If I had to it would mean that I couldn't provide for my fish. If that were the case, I wouldn't keep fish. Any other decision is unethical IMO.

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

BB, I could not chose between good water conditions or good food. Both are vital. Not sure why a choice would even be necessary.

Im asking which would you say helps growth rate. Food Or Pristine water conditions. So lets say you feed 2wice would you bump it up to 3 times a day to try and archive this ? Or if you did a 20-30% weekly water change would you bump that up to a 50-60% weekly water change ? Basically asking which do you believe achieves this. Im trying to promote a growth spurt in one of my fish as he appears to have not grew none in the 2 months ive had him and he eats well also so thats not the issue.

IME, the higher the quality of both water and food, the faster the growth of the fish

When one is off, your fish will be effected by it as well as slowing there growth
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I believe both of mine is good I feed 3 different types of Hikari Cichlid pellets mixed in with NLS Cichlid pellets and I do about a 40% water change weekly but he's just doesn't seem to have put on any size like everyone else.

Is it getting out-competed for food?

Cliff is absolutely right about the quality of food and water, Having said that:

    A. If he is healthy and eating.. Why bother? I would STRONGLY suggest you don't mess with the entire tank in a futile attempt to boost the growth of one fish.

    B. Growth spurts are not up to you.

    C. If you are going to do more WC and get great food that's fine - There's no reason not to do both.

I just wanted to see if I could help promote it and if so what way would be better. He's eating good so I guess time will tell
