Weird fish behavior

I introduced 7 bloodfins to my 20 gallon yesterday, I've noticed that one hovers in place for up to a minute or so after that it goes back to normal swimming around. Is this normal for bloodfins or is this something I should further into possible problems? The ammonia and nitrates are 0 and nitrates are 20 to 30.

Your water parameters look ok. For a school fish to leave the school for a bit is not uncommon. Does the bloodfin who hovers have a sunken stomach? Some time you get an unhealthy fish from the lfs in a school. It is usually better to discard that individual then to have your whole school get what he's got. Keep an eye on him. If he starts to swim erratically or sideways, it could be decision time.

He looks fine out side of hovering. I was just curious if there might be something wrong.

If he looks fine and just takes a few minutes away from the others I would just keep an eye on him for the next few days. My Cardinals do the same thing. One will leave the school to check something out and then rejoin his buddies.

He's probably just adjusting to the different water parameters. The last time I put Rummy Noses in my tank it took one almost a week to adjust. I thought he was a goner for awile hovering by himself among the plants.

I have a school of red eye tetras and after a w/c I noticed that one of them will usually hide out off to the side toward the top of the tank behind some foliage. This really made me nervous but I found that if I turn off the lights after the w/c it helps reduce the stress he is feeling.

What's his colouration like? If he is pale compared to the rest of the school and is acting oddly I would imagine he may have an underlying problem. If not he's just being a fish and getting his owner all worked up

He appears fine just trying to troll me lol. I've noticed a couple fish a little clearish spot on their lip. Don't see anything other spots on them or any other fish so I don't think its ich and they are acting fine. Any ideas what this could be?

Doesn't sound as he has a problem. Maybe he's just admiring his new digs. Or taking a quick nap.

Sounds like it worked itself out. Bloodfins are pretty adaptable.
