how long will frozen food stay good in the fridge?
I was wondering if my frozen food will stay good in the fridge in water. I am feeding my new fish frozen food because he wont eat flake yet. And since hes small he wont eat an entire brick on his own. So can i just fridge the food and feed him it littlw by little? If not how can i save the left over....

not so sure of all frozen foods, but in my experience, bloodworms seem to start smelling
really bad really quickly after being defrosted. I normally just use a saw edged knife and quickly cut the block into appropriate portions
and put everything but what i am immediately feeding back into the freezer.

I have never kept thawed frozen food in the fridge longer than 18 hours
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I've never kept this fish, but everything I have read says it is very difficult to get them to eat anything but live and frozen food. Personally, I wouldn't bother with flakes but try pellets instead, and because of what I have read, if he didn't eat the pellets in a short amount of time, I would just continue with the frozen and occasional live foods. I agree with madagascariensis, just cut up the cube and put what is left back in the freezer, they spoil fairly quickly.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

The brine shrimp are my biggest problem they are in ice cube type portions and incredibly hard to cut. Is it possible for me to thaw, portion, then refreeze?
Im going to try him on flake just because of his size. But i wont be surprised if he dosent want any of it. He will be on a pellet, live and frozen diet once he will accept the pellets. If any one.was interested mommy musta saw my earlier post stating i had a leopard bush fish (ill be darned if i can spell the scientific name off the top of my head). I will most likely be starting a journal about him. And i was 100% aware of this fishes needs. Even thoughit was an impulse buy at the time, i had all sorts of research going into this. Thanks for the help every oneKING OF THE GOLD BARBS RAWR!!!!

thawing and refreezing of brine shrimp is not a good idea IMO. It would be no different than thawing and refreezing the seafood that you eat. Each time you do it, you lower the quality of the food and increase the risk of parasites or something along those lines
You could feed the rest to some of your other fish maybe ?

Lol, yes, I figured the frozen food was for the Leopard Ctenopoma, especially since they can be difficult to get off of live and frozen food, and you mentioned he isn't taking to the flakes. I guess I should have mentioned that. Oops

So i think i just got a solution. I smacked it with a hammer in a zip top bag. Made smal peices uneough for 1 feeding or so. Any left over will be saved for feeding 2. (Giving 2 or 3 feeds a day till hes bigger). Im not sure if hes not taking to flake yet because hes very shy. Im waiting of flake till he doesnt hide when he sees me. But worste case i buy him frozen foods and start my guppy farm. Allready have a good stock on the rcs. Thanks every one.
