I find that doing water changes on my rather little 120 litre tank is hard work...just changing 48 litres involves carrying eight buckets (four dirty and four clean) to the kitchen at the other end of our long flat. Still, it keeps me fit!

I think if I had anything over 300 litres I'd get a water changer.

Well the water changer kit at the store was $50.00. My jaw just about hit the ground. After some digging around I found that you could buy just the valve that connects to your faucet. I bought that for $8.00 and went to the hardware store; $6.00 worth of hose and I had the same thing they charge $50.00 for. I felt pretty good after saving myself 35 bucks. 35 more in fish money I have now!!!

It only took one water change for my new 65 gallon to decide I was not going to be carrying four, five gallon bucks back and fourth every week lol.
