thanks, but out of all the stuff i had to do to get this 2 1/2 hour drive only to find it is a 119.7, thinking that is a glass thickness thing, and it is a 120g.

    LxWxH.....72x16x24... oh well

    Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

    Dude Seriously?

Are you telling me that in all your communication [Email/text/voice/whatever] with the owner of it you never asked the dimensions of the tank previous to taking off to get it 2.5 hours away? For real?

How exactly would a wider footprint throw off your stocking

EDIT: Wait - Wider? Is it not 24" wide & 16" tall?

the owner said it was a standered 125, didnt go any further from there. it is 16'' wide and 24 tall. as wanting it wider, usally bigger fish like room to turn around and wanted to add a severum, i figured wider, bigger fish would have a problem turning.

    Dude -

ALWAYS get the measurements first - Always.

Secondly, A 'standard 125 is 18" deep [not tall] so [If you had heard that and looked that up so you would know it] you would have known already it's not a standard anything - Is it braced?

Post a pic of this tank please.

it was FREE, lol so she said 125, my mind was all on that.. I looked at a 125 gallon today at petsmart it is braced twice. Well i mesured the length between the two braces. OK, so the one i have has a thick piece of glass. I mean thick. it is the same length between the 2 braces. if that makes since. SO instead of 2 braces with nothing between them, mine has a thick piece of glass siliconed at the top. i have no way to setup till i get a friend this Tuesday but i can try to take a pick of it in the truck

Having the glass brace in the middle is sometimes referred to as Euro Bracing. There are a few different approaches to Euro bracing, this is the one that I see the most. Very common in custom made tanks were you can not use a standard sized frame
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
