Wild caught Rhamdia quelens
Most people may not know this species. It lives in clear running streams in South America and Trinidad. An omnivorous and opportunistic hunter. May reach up to 18 inches but usually maxes out at 12. They are active both at day and night. Rhamdia prefer a ph on the mildly acidic to neutral range but are also very adaptable. This fish was caught yesterday and will remain in quarantine till I determine it is healthy enough to go into the display tank.
High five to fellow Trini and AC member Guppyatemydog, who was instrumental in planning the collecting trip.

Cool looking fish AeonflameIf you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Nice fish! From the description it sounds similar to the bullheads we have here.Liters to Gallons conversion calculator

Very nice catfish Aeonflame. I dont think that Rhamdia quelen would do well with my tetras. Or should I say my Tetras wouldn't be well with that cat in their tank. Tetra snack.Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

A nice fishing day. All we catch are trout and then we eat them. You get to keep your catch and watch it grow up in your tank.Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
