How about now? I opted to give the 56G its own space since it is not in the fish room and will hopefully be display worthy enough to journal on its own. However here is my lowly 4G Evolve...which is currently my only tank at the new house which is actually functioning. You can also see my super red HMPK the SO has been calling "bill"

Another update, it may be several more months before I get some serious tankage going here. The buyers for my old home could not secure financing so the house is back on the market. Until it is sold and the weather improves I am not going to be buying or transporting any tanks or fish from the old house. It is just far too difficult at the moment. I do however hope the have the fish room completed before the next school year in the fall and take full advantage of this summer to get it complete.

Seems to be a common trend in the real estate market these days, people are trying to get loans through 2nd hand lenders who do not demand a down payment. They get "pre approved" and face months of BS trying to actually secure the financing or it never happens. This however has given me the opportunity to think more about purchases and what I would ultimately like to keep...so in the end it works out

    Thank you as well!

The scaping of that 4g is gorgeous, you have a good eye for it; although I'd personally not keep a betta in less than 10g.

Jenn, I couldn't have said it better than fishmommie did. Your tanks are always gorgeous. Selling or buying a home is quite difficult these days.
When in doubt, do a water change.

    Great looking tank Jenn

Not too many people can make a small tank like that look that good
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

A natural looking betta tank, and a good looking one at that. That's a rare sight. Well done! If this is your style we got something to look forward to.

I always attempt natural scapes...and do try to make each tank as individual as possible. Of course considering my habit of using branchy wood and fern for darn near everything that is sometimes a task lol.

Thank you all for the kind comments, these small cubes are a PITA to get to look like anything. I typically don't keep tanks this small for anything outside of Inverts, however the Evolve has such a massive filtration system for its water volume it actually is quite capable of supporting a cycle and fish. The betta also seems to have plenty of room, he is kind of a lazy preferring to flare at his reflection 90% of the day in one small spot.

Cute tank but then I would expect no less from you and your great ability at designing. You do drive me quite nuts because I have a horrible time trying to put together a 5 and a 10 gallon. I get mad every time, tear them apart and shove them empty back under my bed for another 3 months. They do a great job as dust collectors, tho.

The banks are playing their games again. They have the money to loan but the cost of houses is increasing so the banks are holding out for all they can get. Glad you are happy with your new digs.

Why do you feel you have difficulty with small tanks Hobbs?

The market has improved this year compared to the end of last...makes me glad I purchased last year, probably would have wound up paying a few more grand for the same property just a few months later. Around here the banks offer loans...however the smallest down payment you can find is still around 15-20%. Most people don't have the cash for that, so they are going to 2nd hand lending companies or loan brokers. Ive got a friend who has gone this route and has been attempting to buy for the last 6 months. He has been pre-approved for financing however he has not been able to actually get the money. The people who bought my old house decided they didn't need a home that large once they couldn't get financing, or I probably would have given them a couple of more months instead of having to mess with re listing.

Smaller living space=more time to enjoy being at home. However when tanks are concerned it does prove to be a bit challenging since I do have to measure and find tanks to fit the space instead of just tossing whatever in there.
