Your tank room will be amazing, Jenn. Lady Hobbs has a good point. If you move the sofa to where she's suggested, you will have a much more expansive view of all the tanks from the sofa.
I'm sure whatever you end up with will be fantastic.30 gal FW:dw gourami, cory cats, ABN pleco, Colombian & Serpae tetra, nerites & mystery snails
5.5 gal FW: crown tail betta
90 gal FW: Blood Parrots, severums, Jurupari, EBJD, congo tetras, angel, dw gourami, mystery snails

You know what would be cool, if you placed a large tank near the center of the room so guest could walk around and see from different spots.

I'm currently planning something a lot like this in a 16x10 room. One wall is dominated by a closet but I am going to run 3 seperate 75 gal stands with some extra inch to them. They will be two tiered so that I can have a total of 6 75 gal tanks, an 8ft tank and a 4ft tank or any other combo of tank spaces.
I ended up settling on what I attached. My wife let me move the 300gal discus tank that was going to go where the sectional is, out to the dinning room so that I have additional seating. I am not sure how much I like this idea because im the only one who gets to be in this room outside of my random friends.FW: 1 45gal, 1 40gal, 3 10gal, 3 30gal all community tanks of different species
Sw: 1 55gal, 1 30gal show, 1 29gal show, 1 20gal and 2 10's

Id love a tank larger than 125/135G however the angle of the room prevents anything past 6ft from making the turn and the door frame is 28" wide so getting a 24" tank through that and people still keeping their arms would be very difficult. I could go up to a standard 150G...but Id prefer to keep my boobs dry
Im actually okay with a smaller "big" tank...my smaller tanks can all be decent sized to make up for it.
Thanks for the suggestion Hobbs! I may swap places with the sofa and 75G...Im trying to work around that window, registers and outlets so I am limited. The sofa itself is a white leather futon in a more modern style...I had the pleasure of ordering it today. So it isnt very large...smaller and less bulky than your average love seat. My computer chair has an ottoman and reclines, does that count?
Thanks all for the feedback and suggestions! Very much appreciated...I hope this turns out to be an epic project I am beside myself with excitement. I have already told the SO and santa all I want for Xmas is some fish tanks.

I've given up trying to stay dry when cleaning the bigger tanks. Now I just make sure I have a clean dry shirt available for when I am done. A large cube tank would be cool in the center of the room. I know there would be power cord issues and it would block the tv, but who needs tv when you have all those great tanks in the room.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

Now that is an interesting idea....I will def. be giving that some thought! A 24" cube would be pretty awesome dead in the middle...or even where the TV goes

A large cube tank in the center of the room that can be viewed from all sides is always something I've wanted to do but never have the room. You could have it drilled and put a sump underneath so you don't have to deal with HOB's or canister tubing spoiling the view.

Lack of planning on your part doesn't justify an emergency on my part.
