Sparkling gourami ok ?
so I have 8 platies, 8 diamond tetras, 5 rasboras and a bn pleco. Would a sparkling gourami do ok in my tank ?
It's a 56 gallon column tank. I read they need a cooler temp tho. Any opinions on that ?

I've been researching these for a single species tank. In your tank, this fish could have an issue with competing for food so I wouldn't add one with the fish you currently have.

100% agree with the above.
Platties are such piggies when it comes to eating... they and your tetras will likely outcompete the sparklers for food and speaking from experience sparkling gouramis are very, very shy when it comes time to eat... Not to mention they are social fish and do best in groups, kept in single-species tanks. In regards to temperature, I kept mine in 78 f and they seemed happy.
