    Default Sump ?

    I am just starting into sw and I am starting with a 29 gallon tank. just wondering if I should go 5 or ten gallon for my sump. I have both tanks. I want a sump to increase my amount of water, biological filtration, and to house all of my equipment.

    I think you just answered your own question. If one of your goals is to increase your water volume, then go for the biggest sump you can. The ten gallon would make a better sump then a five gallon.

    I've always recommened the largest water volume practical for your situation
    If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

    Besides the extra water volume it'll also give you more room for equipment ie heater skimmer etc
    55g Long --> After 18mo of doing well the tank crashed during moving. Most likely cause: Flatworm Die-off... won't start another until after moving... Likely not until late 2013
