Bamboo Shrimp Feeding Green Water.

+1 - I have 4 amano shrimp that are just a little smaller than bamboos. Perhaps they have a different diet but mine pick up larger pieces of matter - I can't imagine that a large shrimp like that would be able to pick algae out of water or enough to satisfy itself.

well, keep in mind that bamboos are filter feeders whereas amanos are not. So they do have different feeding strategies. Just not sure how small of things the bamboo shrimp's fans can grab, and not sure what types of things they like to eat exactly.

A filter feeder that's actively picking gravel is already in big trouble. It's risking it's fans and thereby long term survival because it's starving.

I'm pretty sure I read a really good species description somewhere.... Hmn, can't find it. I seem to recall it listed the bigger phytoplankton as one of the food sources so you'd start at the middle of this size range.
20→200 µm and that is pretty small already.
