Poor little saddle toby, when will he ever learn?

So I did a water change on my 55g last night, but I guess it wasn't enough.....I woke up this morning to a tank 30% empty. Apparently, Mr. Valentini the Valentini puffer fish was not pleased with how much water I changed, so he took matters into his own two fins and tried to change another 18 gallons or so. He was so insulted about his water not being clear enough that he overflowed my skimmer and poured it all onto the carpet. Damned thing didn't have the decency to use vinyl tubing and a bucket like the rest of us. Oh well, at least his water shall be extremely clean this week. Has this happened to anyone else? Mr. Valentini is lucky that he's so cute...

Sometime large water changes can make skimmers go nuts and overflow. The skimmer I have on my 180 will do that, but its a in sump skimmer so it really doesn't matter to much. HOB skimmers can sometimes do that as well, but that water ends up on the floor.

I found dialing down the skimmer to it's lowest when w/c helps it not overflow. after a day I start dialing it back up. couple days and it's usually back on high. lol
