Ordered my Snails
After looking all over the net and trying to find Assassin Snails that were priced good with shipping plus a guaranteeing them I had no luck. I called a animal/fish store in my area that I have had very good luck with and that guarantee their fish for 2 weeks they had not ever carried them or seen them but have special ordered me some at a good price no shipping and a full guarantee
so excited. My pest snails are having a population explosion it's like they know their months/years are numbered ( I have to many to even guess how many)

Cutting down your feeding will also help heaps with controlling a snailpocolypse.

I'm sure I have been way overfeeding
I guess I just have worried that my BN and cory's won't get enough to eat. I need to find a happy medium I think ...

Feeding the corys and Plecs after lights out will help insure they get theirs. Your excess snails are a huge sign that you are feeding too much though.
I feed no more than my fish can consume in 2 or 3 minutes.. No more. I fast one day a week also.

I'll try feeding after lights out and fasting... I need to do something because although my water stays just where it should ( I test and do about a 35-40% water change every 3 days) I know I am over doing the shrimp pellets and wafers. Thanks for the advice

+ to 850. also if you want you can make sure the pleco and cories get food with a ridged tube like a pvc or a clear acrylic on from petsmart.

It's spot [Targeted] feeding.
But - I doubt you will need to spot feed if you feed after lights out, Most of the non bottom fish will be chilled out/sleeping. I have never bothered with it.

i wasnt saying that feeding after lights out wouldnt work. if you give the fish a half hour after all lights out they wont touch the food. but sometimes feeding after lights out wont fit into a schedule or it is easy to forget thats why i spot fed for a while.
its a simple concept, if the fish cant get to the food till it hits the bottom chances are the bottom fish will get it before the top dwellers. so you use a tube to make sure the food sinks. if theres something else that needs clarifying let me knowKING OF THE GOLD BARBS RAWR!!!!

Thanks for the information. I didn't know about spot feeding or that 30 minutes after lights the other fish don't feed. When you feed your pleco's or cory's pellets or wafers how many/much do you give them? I have 6 pepper cory's and 1 BN
