Signs of over feeding Or?
I feed my Africans twice a day NLS mixed with hikari brand foods. And they are pigs. So last night around midnight I got around to cleaning the sand since there was alot of poop threw out the whole tank I removed the rocks did a 25% water change changed the filter floss and left the light off and went to sleep. I wake up today and there is the same amount if not more poop all over the tank remind you I fed the tank about 5 or 5 hours befor I got around to cleaning it for this reason but it still happend. Am I feeding too much should I cut back or on the quantity or is it because the food is rich in protein it causes this ? It's a pain with sand so let me know thanks.110g All Male Peacock/Hap Tank

I would call that being over fed. Cut back to once a day. It might take a few days before the amount of poop is reduced.

If you're water quality is good (use a liquid test kit) I would say your feeding is fine so long as you're feeding small amounts. Many fish are opportunistic feeders (or grazers) so, personally, I don't like giving all the feed in one sitting. Like a grazing horse - much better to feed little and often (emphasis on 'little'). Although this will depend upon the species you keep of course (not to mention how much time you have).
If you have a lot of poo on the substrate it might be that:
1. You have too many fish for the tank size;
2. Your filter isn't good/strong enough;
3. Your maintenance schedule isn't frequent enough.
What's the details of the tank stocking/filtration/routine/size?

Peacocks And Hap Cichlids there's only about 14 in the tank right now and since they are small I only do a 25% a week.110g All Male Peacock/Hap Tank

How many cichlids?
14 what - cm?
Do you test your water for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates?
Do you vac the substrate every week?

14 cichlids they are babies 2-3 inches. I do all the above none of that is a issue I'm simply just trying to figure out if I may be feeding too much and that's the reason they are producing soo much or are they generally this filthy this is the first time I've stuck with sand and it just sits there piled up maybe I need more current in my tank which I'm looking into to help it get to the filters but yea.110g All Male Peacock/Hap Tank

Just trying to get the information needed to assess what the issue might be - I can't say if you're overfeeding without looking at all the alternatives. Pooing a lot doesn't necessarily mean you're overfeeding (if they finish their feed within a minute or two you are not overfeeding).
Sand is a great choice of substrate for these cichlids, but will show the poop if you have any deadzone areas in terms of your circulation.
My advice would be to hoover your substrate twice a week and double your water changes. See if that makes a difference.
I'd be interested to hear what other opinions there are on this.
