I have told my most trustworthy LFS to look for Ember tetras for me.
If i got shrimp, i know they have red crystal shrimp at my lfs usually and ghost shrimp at petsmart, haven't seen anyone with cherry shrimp in my area though.
And make a note 850R is ninja and pro...believe it.(no pun intended...honestly...really...ok running now :: runs away :: )6 gal column- 1 powder blue dwarf gourami, 1 bronze cory, and one nerite snail, planted.
10 gal - 2 F celebus rainbows, 3 ghost shrimp, 1 nerite snail, 1 mystery snail, planted
10 gal #2 - 6 flame tetras, 1 ornate tetra, 1 nerite snail, and 1 emperor tetra planted

Check craigslist. Those shrimp breed so easily, must be someone in your area who can spare a few.

afraid to use craigslist as i know there have been incidents with it and not good ones. I'll see what i can find out.
Also if i couldn't get cherry shimp locally would the red crystals serve as a substitute if i could find them? If so how many would i need, i don't want an exploding population but also realize that whereever i get any shrimp from i'm likely to get a male and female in the tanksLast edited by Shidohari; 12-10-2012 at 08:44 PM.

Crystal reds are derived from cherries. Get too much and you can sell them.

Crystal reds are a totally different species.

the only crystal reds i've seen are the ones at jack's pets which is one of my more trustworthy LFS...i usually get the best answers from two of the people that work there...
I know live aquaria would ship, but they use fed ex which would leave the package at the door if i wasn't there. given the temps are dropping a little bit in Northern KY i am a little hesitant about using that method as i'm normally at work when they'd drop off.
OMG I JUST LOOKED AT THE PRICE 99.00 for 5 pure line crystal reds off one site. same site has 10 cherry shrimp for 35 bucks
This site is in ohio wow goin to find a phone numberLast edited by Shidohari; 12-10-2012 at 09:21 PM.
