any good ideas on how to resilicone a piece of glass back to the main tank

If you replacing a broken pain of glass, I would suggest completely removing the outer seal from the whole tank. Take out the pain of glass that is broke. Silicone a new one in its place. Then after letting the silicone cure, replace the outer seal for the whole tank. Just make sure you completely remove the old silicone as the new silicone will only bond with the glass

I know a guy on another forum that replace a broken pc of glass on a 180 gallon tank that way

If your handy this should not be all that big of a deal. But if your not, I would not attempt this

The aquarium I use for my snake has a double pane on the one end...they left the broken plate in place...and then heavily siliconed another plate onto of it.

Apparently it worked...it was used for fish...but looks awful.

I got it for free, and it didn't matter to me...but I wouldn't want it for my 'show' tank...

If this is for a fish tank, it also can not be just any glass but a certain thickness to withstand the pressure of water.

sorry about the time lag, redone the pane.

redone the pane. Exact thickness and sizes. took awhile to get it perfectly clean. now its just the stand to do

when replacing the glass you can hold everything together so it stays straight with along rubber strip like a rubber band or maybe a bungee would work.
