  1. Default my first plants!

Well I wanted to make the official announcement that I got my first live plants! yeah! I have 2 banana plants and a java fern. I put them in my 29gal. The java fern had a small sprout on it that the pet store owner told me I could break off and plant in a different tank if I wanted to. So I did that and put the sprout in my 10gal. I am sticking to the easy plants, since I don't want to get into special substrate and co2 and special lighting and stuff. Just a few live ones is good for me. Are there any other easy plants that I could get and just stick in the tanks? I don't want too much, since hopefully they will all grow and take up more room anyway....just keeping my options open incase i want to add more variety.
10 gal tropical tank (mainly snails w/7 fish), 5 rats, 4 parakeets, 1 senegal parrot, 2 degus, 1 snake, 1 blue tongue skink, 3 mice, 1 rabbit, 1 ferret, 5 cats, 1 dog

Egeria densa (anacharis) and Ceratophyllum demersum (hornwort) are a couple of good choices for a beginner.

I like CAF's suggestion. I have anacharis that are growing like CRAZY and hornwort that is doing the same.

I tried a banana plant but it died.

I have heard that water sprite is a good beginner plant, too, but I can't seem to find any.
    8 tanks running now:
    1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.
