What size is your tank? A Clown Loach can get up to 12" long.

no worries im fully aware of how big they get. that is one of the reasons why im interested in them. once big enough they will be going into my 115gal but as of right now im looking to start them in my 55gal. but instead of getting off track by questioning me lets get back to the main reason this post started. so will 2-3 inch clown loaches be a treat to my dwarf shrimps?

I had a few shrimps in my clown loach growout tank and as best as I could tell the loaches leave them alone. Can't promise that would always be the case, though.
Interestingly, I got my loaches in two batches. The first batch did not seem interested in snails but the second batch cleaned them up.300 gallon mega tank: build in progress
75 gallon community tank: tetras, danios, corys, platies, otos, pearl gouramis, bristlenose pleco, assassin snails, red cherry shrimp, bamboo shrimp
70 gallon growout tank: clown loaches, sailfin pleco
60 gallon goldfish tank: fancy goldfish
29 gallon frog tank / 10 gallon tadpole tank: 1 leopard frog, 1 tadpole
10 gallon and 5.5 gallon betta tanks: 1 male betta each, sometimes snails
