Koi Open Wound "Q"
Greetings!
I have a koi with an open wound on top. In the past, we've used Melafix to treat such wounds and it would work. This time, it's been 1.5 weeks but this wound doesn't seem to go away. Any suggestions or other medications you would recommend? TIA!

pristine water conditions are always the first line of defense for injury recovery. Looks like it's in an indoor tank... how big is the tank and how big is the fish?
300 gallon mega tank: build in progress
75 gallon community tank: tetras, danios, corys, platies, otos, pearl gouramis, bristlenose pleco, assassin snails, red cherry shrimp, bamboo shrimp
70 gallon growout tank: clown loaches, sailfin pleco
60 gallon goldfish tank: fancy goldfish
29 gallon frog tank / 10 gallon tadpole tank: 1 leopard frog, 1 tadpole
10 gallon and 5.5 gallon betta tanks: 1 male betta each, sometimes snails

Melafix is about as useful as treating cancer with an aspirin. You need to watch that open wound. I would not be surprised if it wasn't an anchor worm, very common in goldfish.
