    Thanks.

Photography is my other big hobby.

Sometime in the last few days I seem to have lost a cory. And I really mean lost. No trace of him. So I was down to 3 females and 1 male.

Today I was in my local garden center. Since I had a frank exchange of ideas with the guy responsible for the fish a few months ago that place has really shaped up well. They had some pygmies on sale for only 1.75 each (euros, not dollars. That's only 50 cents more than a standard neon). so I picked out 3 slim and slender looking ones. I hope I know have at least 2 more males.

On a side note... a spirulina tab really acts as catnip to everything vegetarian. It's covered in shrimp now, there's a phalanx of snails approaching and the bristlenose are pushing and shoving to get a bite.

Few pics for those that like that sort of thing:

A small sliver of spirulina tab draws a crowd. I need to thin out the shrimp again.

Like the way you can see various other shrimp around this one:

Once again, stellar job Dutchie. Are those Amano shrimp? They look like them, but mine have red dots along the sides.

Also, I know you feed Hakari algae wafers, but what kind? Apparently the ones I use do not attract any algae eaters. ;/ In fact, my shrimp would rather eat pellets.

    Thanks Kev!

I never did identify these shrimp. I've even consulted a few biologists who specialize in this area and the closest they've come is that it's neocaridinia family is. I know they're not amano since those don't breed in fresh water.

I bought the hikari algae wafers for my bristlenose who love them and only then noticed that the shrimp also went for them. As far as I know hikari only has one mixture that they form into small and big wafers.

In my tank the bristlenose go for it, the shrimp enjoy a nibble. The snails get into it and the green neons line up for a bite. Even the cories take a nibble

But I do appreciate the thought.

Got back from a 4 day business trip to find the tank in trouble. Little flow trough the filter, 1 dead shrimp and one cory acting up. Cleaned it all up again and this afternoon I saw the cories spawn. Unfortunately the green neons figured it out as well.

Oh, and I got featured in the English magazine, practical fishkeeping. Can't wait for my copy to show up.

Sorry about the tank trouble, but looks like you got it under control. Congrats on being featured! What was the article about?

Congrats to being featured, I'm looking forward to the article! Pictures look fabulous, the barbs color is stunning. My occupants love the hikari algae wafers also, even my black phantoms stand by waiting for bits to be kicked up.
