29 gallon stocking
Hi,
I have 6 harlequin rasboras, 2 bronze corydoras, and 3 algae shrimp in my planted 29 gallon. It's filtered with an AC 70 and gets twice a week 25% water changes. I'd like to get another 6 rasboras and maybe another catfish, but it seems a bit much. Most sites put the rasboras at 1.75inches long and 12 of those swimming in 29 gallons might be tight...any thoughts?
thanks

With your info, it doesn't sound too far fetched. Although I would add 5 not 6.

With plants, your tank might be able to hold the bio load. Plus, you have a good amount of tank dispersement. The cories will stick to the bottom, and the rasboras will stay in the middle or towards the top. I have 7 rasboras and 3 cories in my tank (20 long) and it works out pretty well.

yeah, 6 rasboras and another cory cat would be fine. However, kep up with the water changes.

Agreed that your stocking would be fine with the filtration and water change schedule you describe.
CAF, you are recommending 5 and not 6 because of your "odd numbers" theory/fact/feeling/whatever?8 tanks running now:
1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

I think you should get at least a couple more corydoras, they seem to do better in groups, at least mine always have
