So i have a 25 gallon tank with a male and a female gourmi. The female has developed this strange coloring where her front half (from the middle of her body to her head) is a lighter color than her much darker lower half. (from her middle line to her tail.) I have kept gouramis for a few years now and i have never seen this before. What do I do and what does this coloring indicate?

can you post a picture?
Some people have had experience with their fish changing colors.
Other options are that she is stressed due to the mate. Gourami's are known to not play well with one another.

My opaline gourami drastically changes colors everyday, sometimes every hour.
In some instances I hypothesize that he sees his reflection in the back of the glass and gets very brilliant colors to display dominance. In other times I think he is pushing out a huge string of poo and gets pale with shame.
