Sure was a drastic ending because his girlfriend didn't get home from a concert until 1 AM. Strange all this out pouring of sympathy for him but not hearing much about the girlfriend.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

There's been a recent trend of suicides of current and former NFL players. People are starting to realize how badly a professional football career damages your brain. By all accounts he was a likeable and friendly guy. From what I understand, it's not like he was a bad guy, an abusive drunk who finally snapped and killed his girlfriend. That guy would have no sympathy. I don't know if they'll get a chance to dissect his brain like they did with some of the other guys but I bet if they do they'll find the same problems.

Hobbs, i'm in the KC area and been a fan of belcher.
he's been a good guy in the community (that we can see...we dont know what happens at home) and been a great football player.
there was a moment of silence at the game for domestic abuse, so the league and the team recognize that he still did commit a horrendous crime and then did a selfish one to end it.
it is a tragedy in all aspects. sad the mom is gone, sad the dad is gone, but it is more sad (as the coach recognized) that the baby now has no parents.
due to his status in the NFL-he will get all the press...but that is how it always is with the media.

From reports of neighbors, I guess they fought pretty regularly. He sounds to me to be a bit domineering to get so upset over a concert that your baby now has no mother or father. But I agree about the press. He was known and she was not so she will be swept under the carpet.

Oh I whole heartedly agree on that.
there is no excuse for what he did-and if he didn't end his life..the entire nation would be calling for his head and morn for the mom.
I would like more of the focus to be on the mom/child. but it'll take the media a while to get there. they'll only care about the famous person.
