PH Test Kit
Which kit do most of you use? I have a cheap one from Walmart and it doesn't test levels high enough for the malawi.
Thanks

API makes a kit that tests for ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, and high/low ph. i got mine at petsmart but have also seen it at other fishstores. i would also recommend getting a gh/kh test too.

What is GH/KH? And what levels would the africans need?

I can answer what it is, but I dont know about the levels.... I just have a general pH kit and test once weekly.
GH is General Hardness....and KH is Carbonate Hardness.....they help maintain a stable pH, you would use these tests to detect any rapid pH shifts, that would occur from low KH levels.
Oh and I use the API master kit. Like Sergo said, it has tests for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate & pH (High & Low Range)Last edited by MeganL3985; 10-08-2007 at 03:49 PM.
