Betta bubbles film.

So i am

when half my 5 gallons are bubble nests. my question is. what is the film that covers the rest of the tank. I have two 5 gallon tanks, heated but not filtered. My Aunt freaks out if i am using power. even though i pay half the bill, even though that is almost double what my tank is.. it just makes peace, sorry to go OT. anyway what is that film. is it ok the break up the bubble nest or will it stress him. I do 50% mid week w/c then a graval vac 90% once a week. during the 90 change i scrub the sides to get the film off; but about an hour after that the bubbles come. never had this problem with my crowns there nests are the size a quarter. only my plakats like that make a bubble bath

So could i "stir" up the bubble nest and film to make it less boggy, figured it would either stress or help(surface agitation).

What is the film looking like, please?
Oily, gelatinous, on the surface water, on the glass and decorations.....?
If you don't have a filter what are you using to treat your fish waste?
I think a heater consume more energy than the filter isn't it?

it is only on surface around bubble nest and, as said in OP i do lots of water changes, the tank that this happening to has no substrate. and yea on the heater energy, though idk, lol dont ask

I had that problem too, for what i read out there, it could be proteins, (i did not read anything saying it was dangerous),
What i did is increase the dropping of the water from the filter, to break it up until it was gone. It works but does come back.
For my betta tank i simply scooped it up during water change until gone.

This is what i know so far, if anyone has more opinions on it, i'll be happy to hear it.

i put a very small sponge filter in each and keep it on several times a day. it is working so far
