I quit y'all...the fish win
You know, I am the first to admit I am not the best at scaping a tank, but I think I am going to take this personal now. When I first set up my 120 gallon for Texas cichlids it looked like this.

Not the most amazing scape, but it doesn't suck either
Then I changed it to this. It's not as blurry in real life.

Again, not the best, but not bad either.
Then I raided some of the plants for a different tank, and the tank looked like this.

Since then I have planted and replanted and planted some more, but the fish insist, this is how the tank should look...

I give up, they win. They are the ones who have to live in it and if they want a tank that looks like a barren wasteland with one small sword and a big pile of sand in the middle and none on the right side and algae covered glass, then so be it.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

Three cheers for fish that speak their minds - and another three cheers for the fish owner who can respect that! LOL

Looks about right. LOL When I would wake up in the morning, my plants would all be floating. That's a pretty nice hill they have there in the front.

With that sort of scaping you could hire them out to do groundworks for people
My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

Actually, I think both you and your fish have some pretty good aqua scaping skills.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Thanks everyone.
Andreah, I'm not so sure I am listening to the fish lol...more like giving up. There is just no reasoning with them and they refuse to compromise.
Jenn, you are right, it is much easier, but I still wish I could put my hands in the tank.
Lady Hobbs, I wish I had kept count for how many times I put that hill back in the corner. They have removed all the sand from the front corner and filled in the caves in the back corner.
I guess to a Texas cichlid this is what is considered a nice place to raise the children. But it's driving me nuts.If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?

Doesn't everyone's tank look like that?
When in doubt, do a water change.
