Horned Nerites Laying Eggs in FW tank
So... I've read on here that Nerite snails only breed in Brackish water, but I've been finding little white ovals (eggs) on my tank glass AND on my Orange Rabbit snail's shell (I did see a Nerite hitch a ride on him before - just thought he was cleaning the shell, though, not laying eggs).
Anyway... has anyone ever had the experience of Nerites actually hatching in FW tanks or will I just have random eggs lying around the tank until they're removed?
It would be an interesting tale to tell, should it actually happen. I'll keep an eye on them, but hopefully someone here has an answer.

They only 'successfully breed' in brackish.. They will still try in fw lol
They won't hatch and they are hard to get off of glass [Much less DW
]. Learn to accept them or wait for the java moss to grow over them.
I took the second option :-P.

You could get lucky and he might eat them.
Here's hoping

in nature, nerites live in coastal streams where, after hatching, the larvae will be carried out to sea. however, in a fish tank, eggs laid just will be duds. however, only WE know that. they don't.

Funny you should say that... I just caught him trying to eat an egg on his shell. Hilarity ensues.

back when I had a 29g planted tank, I bought some plants that came from the fish store with nerite eggs attached to them. A year later, I tore down that tank and moved everything to my 75g. I found the same eggs still on the plants. They don't seem to go anywhere.
