Had to put my Beloved Daisy down

Diagnosed the last week of July, my Dog Daisy had Lymphoma cancer. It struck suddenly, and viciously, but Daisy was still full of piss and vinegar, so we decided to try for chemotherapy.

We were delighted, that she quickly reached remission, and seemed cancer free after only two months of chemo, but her remission lasted only six weeks. At the reappearance, which was aggressive, we decided for a last shot attempt at chemo. Given a dose two weeks ago, it appeared she had improved, her lymph nodes shrinking back by 70 percent. The following week, just after Thanksgiving, she was given an at home dose of chemotherapy...... but unfortunately, it did nothing, and the cancer started taking her over.

The decision was rough, but it was the correct one, as the cancer had taken over her liver, and her spleen, and had become chemo resistant. She was put down this morning, and was only six and a half years old.

I hate cancer. I really hate cancer.

I am very sorry for your lost. Dogs are all about their ppl, dedicating their lives to us. It is up to us to see that they get the best out of their time here. You're a good person for giving her the wonderful life she had.

I'm sorry for your loss.

We're probably going to have to put Chester down soon... He's got bad hip displasia and has a real hard time getting up now. Doesn't want to put any weight on his hind legs, and his back legs keep collapsing under him.

so very sorry about Daisy. We've been there too many times and it never gets easier. Just know you did such a very good thing for her by letting her go. Many hugs and also remember she had a wonderful life because of you.

So Sorry Tiari.....You did all you could and you will have to find some peace with that knowledge. It's so hard to lose an old friend that gave you nothing but love.

I'm very sorry to hear about Daisy. It's so tough to lose a pet...and she was still so young!

But sometimes the right decisions are the hardest ones to make. You did the best thing you could for her.

Its rough. But most of today I have a strange overwhelming sense of relief. Makes me feel guilty for a second, until I realize, its perfectly normal to feel that way.
