New 29 gallon dwarf cichlid ideas

my longish new 29 gallon is cycling atm with heaps of seeded media and a wad of fish food in a mesh bag.

anyways, when its done, i plan to move my neons from my 10 gallon into the tank.
If they do well, i'll start to add dwarf cichlids!

ideas:

2 or three

kribs, bolivian rams, apistos and more neons/ cardinals
sound good? or too many?

also i heard german blue rams are very delicate fish? true??

what is your definition of seeded media?

in that tank, after the cycle you could do 15 neons and 2 kribs or 2 rams.

yes, rams are generally sensitive fish that need delicate water to survive. certain pH/temp, softness and a well, well established tank (meaning 6+months of being up and running past the completion of the cycle)

by seeded media i mean bio wheels from filter,

just one pair of dwarf cichlids?

your fishless cycle will be going slower than normal by trying to rot food in the tank.
i would recommend getting pure ammonia.

and yes one pair for that tank on the dwarf cichlids.
they each get to about 4inches in total length.

you must remember adult size of the fish.
you also mush remember that they are cichlids still and have their own aggression. your tank is too small to handle more than 2 based on its size for the growth of the fish and the aggression of the cichlids.

Just because they are dwarf in size doesn't mean they are dwarf in attitude. I have kept all the dwarfs you have mentioned and they all can have an attitude when they want.

I personally would advise you to stick to either kribs or bolivian rams. They are the hardiest of them all IMO, however bolivians are the most peacefull.

German Blue Rams are very sensitive to water conditions and any species of Apisto aren't really suited to beginners. Apistos really need to be going in a tank that isn't less than 6 months old and with a very low pH of 6.5.
