Beautiful threadfins!
I was at petsmart today and they pointed out that they have some new fish types there. The salesperson pointed me towards the threadfin rainbows. All I can emote here is:
Such cute little things! It made me sad that I have no room for them. Really, I had no idea they were that beautiful!
Done with exclamation points. Just had to share that, I was really impressed.

I completely agree! I work at a Petsmart in NE Ohio and we just got these in as well. Maybe we are talking about the same Petsmart seeing as you're from Ohio as well. It's unfortunate because at my store the threadfins are in a bad spot and no one can see them. I try to point them out to as many people as I can. They are very nice looking.

I was at the elyria store. I dont know if it is just that store, or all of them in this area. And yes, they were shown to me, i couldnt see them in that crazy mishmash.

I'm at the Aurora/Bainbridge store so it must just be our supplier sending them to all of us in the area. And yeah, I apologize for the mess that is Petsmarts fish wall.

Vio; do you know if the threadfins you carry are Australian or New Guinea?

I'm actually not too sure. How would I go about finding out? Is there a difference in appearance?

Not to much, the New Guinea ones are supposed to be more colorful is why I ask. They have the same scientific name.

If you thought they looked nice in the fish store, you should see them in a heavily planted tank. I wind up watching my school of them more than any of my other tanks.

I am in Virginia, and Petsmart also got in some new fish on Tuesday. Thread Fins and Sail Fin Pleco (they call it hifin spotted pleco...ugg) But the stock was gorgeous and all the thread fins had sold out in two days.

@ddavis, which Petsmart was that? I've never seen them at mine. Hopefully, they will get more in.
