    Default Pleco is driving me crazy

    He makes such a mess! I hate looking into the tank seeing poop everywhere from him. I just siphoned the tank a couple days ago and it's already a mess!
    I've had him for months so I'm attached to him but I'm really thinking of bringing back to the shop. He's a bushy nose pleco in a 56 I don't know how he makes such a mess from eating film algae. It's crazy.

    They certainly are poop machines.

    Could there be other fish adding to the mess you are seeing ?
    If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

    Make yourself a cleaning "crash kit". Small dollar store bucket with a single siphon hose to do spot cleanings daily. I use a siphon hose that they use for car oil changes, (brand new for fish tanks only, never used on a car), and it has a squeeze bulb to start the flow. I have the smallest one, and I use mine to spot clean out any food debris or snail poop, but it would work the same making it a quick no hassle job.
    2 10 gallon tanks, 1 20 gallon tank, 1 Fluval Edge, 1 29 gallon tank, and one backyard pond.
