Unknown Growth on Live Rock
Hello all,
I have had my Reef tank for a few years now and about six months ago this growth has begun to appear on my live rock. It spreads quickly and so far my only defense has been to scrub it off in a bucket using water from my tank when I do water changes. It is flower like in appearrance and is rubbery in texture. See attached pics. By the way I have not added any new fish or Corals for a year or more. I have never seen anything like this before. Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?
Thanks

It's hard to tell from the pics, but it almost looks like some type of sponge
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

is it a bubble on a stick? or is it just a bubble? Could it be red bubble algae? It has that shape and color.
