Not new, but still learning!
Hi! My name is Melanie. I currently have a 10gal freshwater planted tank with 1 Synodontis petricola and 3 Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki. I recently lost a male Crowntail Betta, a mystery snail, and a Otocinclus Catfish to a nasty bacterial infection/rapid temp drop.
I have 2 purebred Turkish Van cats that are very mischivious. My male actually loves running water and is so curious that he continues to try and pull my silter off the back of my tank. This has now warped the wooden floorboards. So I have since upgraded to a 29 gal freshwater tank that will be planted.
I'm looking forward to learning more about plants, water parameters, fish and the hobby in general!

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.
A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

Welcome to the community ^_^
...Is it bad that when I read "purebred Turkish Van cats" I immediately thought "catfish" before cluing in that you meant "feline"?
The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of the act
