Where to get A Hairy Puffer
I currently live in Houston and am about to get a 2nd tank and then also get a Hairy Puffer (tetradon baileyi). But....the biggest issue I'm having is just finding one of these guys. Anyone know of any leads?

I just googled this puffer and if the info I found is accurate, they are pretty pricey & hard to find because they aren't popular to own.
what made you decide to choose this particular one?46 gal fw tank with black skirt tetras, neon tetras, spotted cory catfish, cherry barbs, guppies, snails & 4 amano shrimp - plastic & live plants

The LFS near me has one that's the store pet, and another lady at Petco told me about owning hers. I love how bizarre it looks and it's really aggressive nature. I've watched videos of hairy puffers chomping crayfish right in half in one bite and thought, I must have this.
The LFS that has it as the store pet just recently relocated and the owner told me they might not have room for his tank set up and will possibly sell him. The cost isn't really an issue, but I've seen them at stores in the past just now that I want one I can't seem to get one.

Perhaps you could buy theirs? I looked on another forum and saw the 2 places that were recommended were aquabid and thatpetplace but that was a fewyears ago.
I'm wondering if you'll need to look internationally to find one - kinda cool they're so small and so nasty - kind of like keeping 1 pirannha (except that's a schooling fish) LOL46 gal fw tank with black skirt tetras, neon tetras, spotted cory catfish, cherry barbs, guppies, snails & 4 amano shrimp - plastic & live plants

Cool choice, if you don't mind an inactive fish that lays around all day, looking like a turd. ;)Last edited by Lady Hobbs; 11-20-2012 at 01:43 AM.
