Stocking advice 10 gal?
I am thinking of starting a 10 gallon tank, plastic plants, polished gravel, light decor. I want to have 3 dalmatian mollies and 3 black balloon belly mollies with a firehouse theme. If I can have more fish, any suggestions? If I can't have that many, what fish can I have? it'll be heated, too. Thanks!

Sounds cute!
What kind of filter? That's important.
Do you know about cycling?
Make sure your fish are all the same sex, or you will have masses of babies, and be overstocked. Actually, may be pushing overstocked already....mollies grow pretty big. With a good filter, you can probably keep 4-5 mollies.
Watch the balloon ones carefully, the other mollies might out-compete them for food, since they swim slower.
No more fish unless you switch species.10 gallon with a veiltail betta, 7 neons, 1 ADF, and one neat moss ball.
20 gallon with 6 female black phantoms, and 1 schwartzi cory

What is it rated for? It should be powerful enough to filter a tank twice your size.
And, cycling? You know of it? :)10 gallon with a veiltail betta, 7 neons, 1 ADF, and one neat moss ball.

Yes I know of cycling :)
And I'm sorry I have absolutely no idea what its rated for! I used it in my old betta tank and he did just fine, tank stayed semi-clean besides the small amount of leftover poop and food.

Underground (undergravel) filters tend to get clogged easily - most people don't use them anymore because there are better hang on back (HOB) filters available - you need filtration for at least 20gal and I agree with the stocking advice already given - mollys get quite large.
Edit: what size tank was your betta in? I'm guessing it was smaller than 10gal.46 gal fw tank with black skirt tetras, neon tetras, spotted cory catfish, cherry barbs, guppies, snails & 4 amano shrimp - plastic & live plants

My betta was in the 10 gallon with another betta.( I had a separator) And yeah, the filter didnt get clogged but would come out of place, if that makes sense...
