Platies overcrowded?
Talked to a woman from my church last night. She recently got a 10 gallon tank and stocked it with 5 platies. I almost told her the tank is too small, but I'm not sure.
She also doesn't know what sexes she has. I printed Tolley's picture for her, but I don't think she's aware of sex ratio requirements or the fact that she's probably going to have lots and lots of fry. I wish fish stores would give this kind of information but they're probably not paid enough to know it.15 gal: 4 mollies, 1 platy, 1 neon tetra, trumpet snails, pond snails.
20 gal: 20+ various molly and platy fry, pond snails.
55 gal: Planted. No fish yet.

If she keep it at that, she will be OK but if they start having a bunch of babies.....probably not.

If you have bigger fish yourself, you could offer to take her fry from her, should she have any and feed them to your fish. Everybody's a winner!
