I have the blues....
......a pair of them actually!
I picked up a pair of GBR on my way home from work today. I thought I had a male and female but after getting home with them I'm pretty sure the guy at Petsmart netted 2 females.
Will 2 females be ok together?
Here is a bad picture of them acclimating.

So it been about three hrs or more, how do they like their tank?

They seem to be doing well.
I'll know more in the morning. Hopefully the will acclimate and flourish.
I just don't know much about pairing. Whether they need a "mate" or if sex matters.
I'm pretty sure I have 2 females and I don't know if I need to add a male or if I need to take one of them back and trade for a male.
Or for that matter, if I should just add 2 males to the tank.

I wouldn't add two males. Others will be able to confirm this but I'm pretty sure you'll have issue with that.
Let's have some photos of them in there

If you want a pair I would probably add one female. But 2 females will probably be okay. :)
Let me know how it goes -- thinking of getting some myself soon.

Should I add a male or exchange one of the females for a male?
I really don't want to take one back if I can have 2 females and 1 male.

So pretty - and I'll bet they will color up even more as they get to feeling more secure. Nice job!

I took one back tonight. She seemed to be aggressive toward the other girl. Petsmart didn't have any males in stock so I just returned her and was thinking about checking next week to see if they received a male.
I might just keep one if she will do ok by herself. I just don't know much about pairing/keeping a single ram.
