Fixing a Discus when not eating
When I combined my discus tanks and rehoused the remaining discus together, one of my discus stopped eating.
Since frozen worms did not get the fish back to eating I added salt and raised the tank to 90 F. Took about two weeks (only replaced the salt once during WC) but the discus is now eating well.
While this may be coincidence or due to other factors, still, the process once again appears to have worked.

phongnguyen123, you might want to start your own thread about your fish, and when you do please post the water parameters, tank size, tank mates, and maintenance schedule.
Cermet, I'm pretty sure your fish just got hungry and started eating. After all, it didn't eat for two weeks. When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Your fish probably has worms. Have you treated with metro yet? It's a 10 treatment with raised water temps to 90.

Hey guys, just got myself a large 9" oscar. Is there any way to determine gender while they are in the tank? Do they have fin patterns that pertain to only male or only female?
