    Default any plants for me

    Ive been reading that most plants require special substrates and fertilizer to live. i only have a synthetic black sand with some gravel mixed in. are there any live plants i can get with this substrate which will not require any specific care?

    I have wisteria, java ferns, swords, moss and a few others - I have only gravel in my tank so I bury the roots with it - I'm sure other members will chime in with what plants work in their tanks.
    46 gal fw tank with black skirt tetras, neon tetras, spotted cory catfish, cherry barbs, guppies, snails & 4 amano shrimp - plastic & live plants
    5 gal QT with green corys & 2 guppies

    Provided you have adequate lighting, Use a good root tab fert and you will be fine, I use these.

    The red stickys here will be helpful also.

    an Amazon sword should do fine.
    other options could be anubias nana, or java fern.
