  1. Default Yikes! I accidentally spillled a LARGE amount of Hikari Bites in my Tank...

I never do this....but for some reason i did this morning....

While feeding this morning I held the container of food over the water while feeding. And spilled a large amount of Hikari First Bites in my 10 gallon.

I recently released 4 platy fry in with my 2 mom's. They havent got the hang of competing for food yet and so I have been putting more than normal amounts of food so they get something to eat. One of the fry is actually going to the top of the water today.

Well I had a limited amount of time this morning when this happened. So I did a quick 50% water change only...no gravel vacuuming. I have already performed 2 partial water changes this week with vacuuming. And I am worried if I do another today it will be to much change...

Should I leave it be till next weeks pwc's ...seeing that is was powdered food? Or go ahead and do a gravel vacuum?

There is no justifiable rationale for waiting, Vac it now.

    +1 to 850R.

I've heard this story a dozen times. I'd advice using a measuring spoon or just your fingers and DO NOT pour directly from the food container.

Net out the floaters and vacuum out the rest before it gets a chance to dissolve.

Will do... i hesitated because i didnt want to do to much with fry in the tank.

And I am assuming by floaters you mean food right? None of the fish are dead.

Yeah I think thats what Aeonflame meant. I agree get that food out of there before it becomes a major problem, especially bc it is a 10gallon tank. I think you'll eventually have more to worry about then the fry if you don't. It can create quite a bit of ammonia. Best of luck, let us know how it works out

I went ahead and did a 95% water change and intense gravel cleaning.

Update~ Everyone is doing good so far and my water parameters are where they should be! :)

--I did move one fry to my fry tank because it kept getting sucked up the filter. I would have put a pre filter sponge on the filter but it would have been wedge tight to the glass trapping everything floating by so I moved the little toot :P
