ID Please
I have a strange growth under and on top of 1 rock from my Eel tank. It's jelly like, solid and in the form of a tentacle's as well.

The red stuff i believe is red slime, but I cannot get an ID on the semi clear gelatinous stuff. So, any ideas what it is and how to treat it would be great! Thanks in advance...Life is tough, it's even tougher if your stupid.

I wish I could say I know what that was. Maybe dinoflagellates, coral slime, or something could have spawned ???
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Thanks folks for trying. I got the same from Big Al's in my nieghborhood. It's (the red) like a rubber film and won't come off easily, almost like someone glued a balloon onto the rock. I have had the rock soaking in a bucket in a Red Slime solution for three days with no result. Next step will be bleaching the rock to kill this off, whatever it is. The sad part is the other side has a beautifull coating of Deep red coraline...Gonna hold off another day in case someone knows what it may be and how to deal with it...Thanks again gang...

For sure glarior. Even if it is in my Eel tank and they are pretty much bullet proof, no sense letting something unidentifiable by our forum and the pretty knowledgable folk at my local Big Als run rampant in my tank...

Well, did not lose the coraline after all. Split the rock in half and put it back in the tank and its fine. Still no clue as to what it was lol but suspect it was the remnants of a nem that disapeared. Soaked the other half in bleach with no effect so tossed the rock...Thanks again for the attempt at ID...
