They'll breed like crazy

If you can pick them out, that would work, but there's probably eggs, so they'll keep appearing
Yes, assassin snails will take care of them

Before you go with assassins, try to pull them out yourself or used some lightly blanched lettuce like romaine. Add it to the tank a couple times to attract the snails and then pull out the leaves-snails and all. If you see any egg sacs (clear-jellylike blobs) just remove them.
Once you have assassins, they will make it hard for you to keep other snails in the future. Though the assassins are easier to remove when not needed, and if your tank is small enough and their numbers are low enough.

It's true, in tanks I've used assassins to control an MTS outbreak, I have only assasins now (no pest snails). I'll never be able to keep ramshorn, pond, bladder or MTS snails unless I remove all the assasins snails, but I really don't want to keep those snails anyway in all my tanks.
Some snails are ok though. I and another member here @SueD keep nerite snails with assasins for years. It may be due to their trapdoor, or because they are so big, I don't know, but they don't become harmed by the assasins. Mystery snails, I have no idea. But they will eliminate a pest snail infestation and in the future. They also eat fish eggs and can also multiply in your tank, but no where near the infestation a pest snail like ramshorn, pond, bladder and MTS and they don't interfere with my plecos or angelfish breeding. Like MTS, they are mostly buried just under the substrate during the day (when the lights are on), so they are never intrusive or take away from the scape. Plus they are a pretty snail

But Boundava's advice with the lettuce might be all you need if the infestation hasn't really started to hold yet.
Oh and btw, that's not my pic, it's off the net, but your pics are really clear. Have you seen the POTM contest?
