Why Are There No More Inverts?
I went to the LFS yesterday and bought a few new plants. Since my lonely ghost shrimp has no friends but the pleco who eventually kicked him out of the driftwood I thought I'd get some more ghost shrimp. Nope. LFS doen't carry them anymore. A label on one of the tanks said they had red cherry shrimp but I couldn't find any. A new LFS down the block is opening tomorrow so I'm curious if they have any. I'm a bit concerned about buying shrimp there though since they're so new. I don't have a QT tank (I wish I did) so maybe I'll just wait and see if the LFS gets more ghost shrimp. Do different shrimp species get along okay?

I think usually shrimp get along from what I have seen from some of our other members.
I think buying shrimp from the new shop would be a great idea. See how they are, fund their startup.8 tanks running now:
1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

I'm just worried about disease etc. Although shrimp don't carry ick I don't have a QT tank so they'd go from the store to the 26g.

Should that be a worry or not?

Could be. Maybe I'll give the newer store a try.

I see you are from B.C.
If you are on Vancouver Island, I can probably spare a few cherry's if you have trouble finding them.
