plants for gourami

havn't got started on cycling yet but what kind of plants would be good for a blue gourami .thanks for your time

Most of any. I had a female Blue Gourami in my 30 gallon planted community for quite some time and she had no problem with the plants, never looked at them twice. Now, it may be different for other Blue Gouramis, but I don't know. It just really depends on whether the personality of the Gourami is to eat plants or not. Plus it depends on your current lighting for what plants you are wanting.

I have kept blue and yellow gouramis before, they seemed to like the amazon swords I have and also they liked the artificial broad leafed plant, so I think that they prefer more broad leafed plants, they aren't all that fussy though :)

thanks for the replies. I don't know yet what my lighting will be , but it will most likly be low to dim because of $$ and power usage. I'll go to technical to find out about different lighting options. Thanks again .

Corkscrew vals make a nice little jungle, and the gourami will feel more protected with tall plants.
