  1. Default THE 120 Journal!!!!

So I've been working on my tank for awhile now and decided I might as well make a journal so that I can show it off a bit.

I bought this tank about 4 years ago then moved to California. I wasnt able to take it with me so I left it with my mom. She turned into an African Cichlid tank (which was awesome). I just moved back to Texas a few months ago and I just couldnt wait to get it back. She loved her fish so much that we got her a new 55 gallon which was plenty big for what she had.

Since I picked it up about a month ago I have been transforming it into the tank I've been dreaming about. I painted the stand, trim, and back of the tank black. I am also in the process of building a super nice canopy for it.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy everything I've done. I know I have!!!!

I will post pictures of all my progress.

    Loving the start!

The only problem I would think about is those big rocks will get a whole bunch of dirt under them. I had the same problem in one of my tanks. Just a FYI when cleaning!

Thanks for the advice. The substrate is 120 lbs of Eco-Complete and 100 lbs of black sand blasting sand

    Looks awesome!

I have a question, though. Do you think having a wood canopy will be a problem with moisture? My plastic hood is always dripping with water on the inside. Seems like that could be a problem with wood.

    Thanks!

I painted the entire inside which will help, and I might also put a glass top on the tank to try to avoid that as much as possible.
